The Commonwealth of Massachusetts requires that at least one certified food protection manager per food establishment must obtain an allergen awareness certificate.  This is available at the Massachusetts Restaurant Association web site www.marestaurantassoc.org. or Berkshire Area Health Education Center www.berkshireahec.org This can be done online, visit either of the websites above, pay $10.00 and follow the instructions for watching the allergen awareness video."

Food Recalls and Alerts

Food Items that you have received may be recalled by the manufacturer. This can happen when food contamination is confirmed or suspected, or when items are mislabeled or misbranded. Food is often recalled when food allergens are not identified on the label. Vendors may notify you of recalls; however, you should also monitor recall notifications made by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the U. S. Department of Agriculture (USDA).
